Q2 Resources – Broughton Sanctuary

Q2 at Broughton Sanctuary

Welcome!

We are now only a few days from our Hoffman Q2 at Broughton Sanctuary, Skipton, Yorkshire, BD23 3AE. We’re looking forward to being with you for those three days and to support you getting the most out of the experience.

Please use this checklist to help you prepare for the weekend. If anything is unclear, please call the Hoffman office in advance of your Q2 on 01903 88 99 90 (9.00am to 5.00pm weekdays) or email graduates@hoffmaninstitute.co.uk and we’ll be happy to help.

1) Complete your pre-course work and print a copy to bring with you
If you haven’t already completed your pre-course work, you’ll can do so here. As well as practical information like dietary requirements, it’s useful for the facilitators to have an idea of the issues you’d like to focus on and any changes since your Process, so do please send this over as soon as possible. Please print a copy and bring it with you as you may want to refer to it during the few days.

2) Other items to bring

  • Your original Hoffman Process workbook: If you still have your workbook, you might like to bring it with you so you can remind yourself how you were feeling on the Process. If you don’t have it, don’t worry.
  • A personal object: Please bring an object to share. This object could represent qualities of your Spiritual Self or something that resonates with you that you’d be happy to share as part of your introduction to the group.
  • A torch: There is lighting, but please bring a torch to help you outside after dark.
  • A watch if you’re planning to hand in your mobile phone (see below).
  • Indoor shoes: a pair of slippers or soft comfortable shoes with non-slip soles, in addition to your outdoor shoes. Our venues are in rural locations and it’s possible your outdoor shoes will get wet or muddy, so please bring something just for indoors that you can slip on and off as you enter the main group room.

Recommended clothing:

  • Comfortable, casual loose clothes and something appropriate for exercise, e.g. sweatshirts, T-shirts, jogging outfits, shorts etc – There will be a bit of bashing!
  • An outdoor jacket and walking shoes/boots
  • A dressing gown/bath robe and a pair of slippers if you want.
  • Soft shoes to wear indoors and layers in case you get warm or cold.
  • Swimwear – there maybe an opportunities for wild swimming and use of the indoor pool.
  • Snacks – the nutritious menu at Broughton Sanctuary is largely plant based and should keep you filled up. However, you are welcome to bring extra snacks (that don’t require refrigeration) if you wish.

Please be aware that there are no shopping facilities or laundry available throughout the weekend, so you should ensure you have adequate supplies of everything you may need. This includes any medication, extra snacks or dietary supplements and cigarettes if you smoke.

Mobile Phones: Unlike the Process, we don’t insist that you hand over phones, books and electronics at the Q2 – although we’ll always encourage you to take the opportunity for a digital detox if you can, and you’re very welcome to hand them over at registration for safekeeping. If you do need to make or receive an urgent phone call or check your email, please be considerate of other participants’ experience and do this in your room / away from the shared group areas.
