The Hoffman 2024 parachute list

Parachute places offer the opportunity to attend the 7-day residential Hoffman Process at short notice for a discounted rate of £2,000. They are available to applicants who are able to take up any last-minute spaces on courses that would otherwise go unfilled in 2024.

Unlike a wait list place (which specifies a particular Process), parachute places can spontaneously arise, sometimes at very short notice, on any Process. We keep a ‘parachute list’ of potential attendees ready for those eventualities. Anyone joining the parachute list is taken through our standard Process enrolment steps as soon as possible in readiness. Spaces are offered to those who are fully enrolled on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Before applying for a parachute place

Consider whether you would be eligible, and also whether a parachute place is a realistic fit for your current circumstances. These places are available to people who are robust, keen, not in any active addiction and with no history of childhood trauma (unless this has previously been discussed in therapy). They’re also last-minute by definition, so it needs to be easy and achievable for you to make domestic and work arrangements that allow you to attend if you are offered a place with only a few days notice.

When you’re ready to register

1. Get in touch! Email enrolment@hoffmaninstitute.co.uk or call the office, and we’ll arrange for one of the team to talk you through the practicalities.
2. After the call, if everything’s straightforward with your application, you’ll be asked to pay our standard £500 deposit.*
3. You’ll then be emailed a link to our parachute enrolment form. This usually takes around half an hour to complete, followed by a second check-in call with one of the enrolment team, who will lead you through the final steps, including sending you our pre-course work to complete.
4. Once we’ve received and approved your completed pre-course work, you’ll be on the parachute list.

How are places offered?

• If a place becomes free on a Process within a week of the start date, and the wait list has already been fulfilled, we will email everyone on the parachute list with the news that a place is available.
• If you are able to attend on the dates being offered and would like the place, quickly send us a reply and let us know.
• A place will be offered on a first-come, first-served basis and is dependent on you being available for a brief phone call within 12 hours to discuss any updates to your pre-course work and to pay your balance **
• If you don’t respond to us within the timescale, the place will be offered to the next person on the parachute list.

If you’re not sure whether a parachute place is for you, we do offer other payment options to help spread the cost of our standard Processes. These include a six month payment plan, and scholarship bursaries for people who work or serve in specific roles. Please note:

• *If you decide to leave the parachute list at any time, please let us know and your £500 deposit will be refunded in full.
• ** The £2,000 parachute place is based on an initial £500 deposit and a £1,500 balance, and applies to Process bookings where the place being filled is advertised at £3,800. If you choose to request an additional extra night, a special diet or a room that requires an upgrade supplement at any of our venues, those charges will be applied separately and are not included in your parachute booking fee.
• We can’t guarantee when a parachute place will become available. If you have specific Process dates in mind, we suggest you register for a Wait List place instead, as Wait List places are offered before parachute places.
• If you haven’t attended the Process by the end of 2024, you will be offered the option to join the 2025 parachute list or to have your deposit refunded. 
• As parachute places are already offering a substantial discount, the Hoffman Essentials £100 discount does not apply in addition to parachute place offers.
