Stand opposite a chair in the position of the Intellect.  Then take a breath and sit down in the chair, looking up at the Intellect in the position of the Child.  Practice switching between both.

Now allow the two to dialogue with each other, speaking as the Intellect from standing, and the Child from the chair.  Let each other have their say, and be as loud, creative and unreasonable as you like.  Once they have each expressed, see if they can come to a compromise.  It may help to close your eyes or wear a blindfold for this exercise, but be careful when moving.

An alternative is to write this exercise.  You could use your normal writing hand with a nice pen and a sheet of plain paper for your Intellect, and your other hand and a crayon and coloured paper for your Child.

As well as a tool of expression, this is an excellent tool for decision-making.
