Let your body do the talking...
Carmen Barral, Mind/Body practitioner

When Carmen Barral did the Hoffman Process, she was struck by the transformative power of emotional release through the body. Now she’s been inspired to bring that to others.

'I‘ve always been interested in finding out why I feel the way I do, in particular what was behind the anxiety I felt at certain times in my life. This led me to choose psychology at university and later on to study psychophysical re-education and become an Alexander Technique teacher...

The Process reinforced and confirmed what I knew through the Alexander Technique: that we think, move and feel as a whole. Our body, emotions and mind are intricately connected. We’re a unit and we act and change as a unit.'

'Intensive and transformational...'
GQ editor Dylan Jones shares his Process experience

As mentioned in last month's newsletter, GQ magazine has recently published an in-depth article on mental health, wellness and the increasing popularity of therapeutic self-development courses (including the Hoffman Process) by editor Dylan Jones.

'At the end of last year I went along to a Hoffman evening at Regent's University, in Regent's Park in London, to see what all the fuss was about. I sat at the back of the room looking for all the world like a broadly drawn secret agent from the Fifties, with my collar turned up and my hat pulled down, adamant that no one should notice me...

Rarely have I found a week so fulfilling as the one I spent at Hoffman. It is difficult to describe the intensity of some of the group work. Suffice it to say that you are encouraged to go back into your childhood - deeply into your childhood - in a way that I didn't think was possible.'

'I have an upbringing. I have a story...'
NLP Mindset coach Helene Weiss blogs about her Process

'You can do a lot of self-development this day and age. The internet is full of it. You can also get guided help by coaches or practitioners such as myself. Obviously, I believe that NLP is a wonderfully efficient tool to deal with childhood anchors, and to gain new perspectives to open up to new behaviours. That’s why I do what I do. But then there’s something else, and that’s the Hoffman Process...

In hindsight, I’d say, it’s probably the most dense, profound and effective kind of psychological work I’ve ever done, and I’ve done a lot! I tried Hypnosis, Systemic Work, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Somatic Work… you name it. And all of those are good in their own right and helpful, yet none of these individually can even come close to what the Hoffman Process does in a week’s time...'

November Process in Ireland

We are thrilled to have added an extra Process this year in a beautiful new venue for the Hoffman Process in Ireland - Castle Grove Country House in Co. Donegal.

This stunning Georgian house near the town of Letterkenny stands within its own private estate with spectacular views overlooking Lough Swilly. The house has comfortable en-suite bedrooms, beautiful grounds and organic food including vegetables from its own garden. Castle Grove has the perfect ambience for the expressive and healing work of the Hoffman Process, and offers the chance to arrive the night before and/or stay the evening after the Process.

The 2017 Process in Ireland will run from Saturday, 25 November to Friday, 1 December 2017 and costs €3,200 including accommodation and VAT. If you know a friend or family member who you think would be interested in this very special week, the link to send them is: www.hoffmaninstitute.co.uk/hoffman-irish-process-2017

We'll also be holding a special Information Evening in Dublin on Tuesday 17 October. All are welcome, it's free to attend and there's no need to book. The evening will be led by Supervising Hoffman Teacher Jeremy Kynaston. Click here for full details.

Please note that we're limiting numbers on this Process to 20, so early registration is advised.
Red Trouser Day 2017
Founded by Hoffman Graduate Paul Finch

Paul was diagnosed with colorectal cancer in 2014 . Thanks to the expertise of the Royal Marsden hospital in London, he succeeded in making a remarkable recovery while avoiding the need for major surgery.

"From my point of view, Hoffman saved my life. It gave me the tools to face massive life threatening adversity and have the courage and the determination to take it on. I had to face my own demons, anxiety and what is life all about whilst coping with close members of family and their worry."

Red Trouser Day is a registered UK charity that raises money to fund advances in the diagnosis and treatment of bowel cancer in conjunction with the Royal Marsden. Supporters are being sought to organise fundraising events like cake sales and fun runs, passing on any proceeds to the charity.

You can make a one-off donation to Red Trouser Day or find out more here

Q2: 3-Day Mini-Process
17-19 November, Florence House

'Pulling up outside Florence House in Sussex for the long weekend, memories of the Process came flooding back. Meeting my fellow participants was a little different this time since we‘d all done the Process, but it was clear that everyone had good reasons to be there. Some had been multiple times, when they wanted to focus on certain areas.

The Q2 is hewn from the same rich vein of genius as the Process; always one step ahead of how you’re thinking and feeling and ready to carefully help you transition as you make your journey through the four stages of awareness, expression, compassion and forgiveness which lead to new behaviours...'
Hoffman Grad Cath McNeill talks about the Q2

Hoffman top tip for October
Get busy doing nothing

Today is a real 'do nothing' day.

If you have to work or have commitments, switch this day with one when you can really do nothing.

How is it to spend the day doing absolutely nothing?
Many people would find it impossible; if you are one of those, today is a really important step. Give it your all!
