Hoffman Newsletter: May 2015
hoffman... When you're serious about change

Welcome
Matador

Does your life ever feel like you're hurtling down a crowded motorway unable to take your foot off the pedal? Taking time out to slow down and get a fresh perspective can be the best choice to make. It's often when it seems impossible to take a break that it's really vital we do.

In this month's issue, Dutch psychologist Frederique Bicker talks about how to make easy changes to your life, how to avoid burnout and why time out is essential for real change to happen.

If you're just finding out about Hoffman, you can attend our Introduction Day in London on Saturday May 9. We also have an Information Evening in London on Tuesday May 12.

Hoffman Process Graduates can also get tips on how to avoid burnout on
our Support Call on Monday May 18, or join the London Support evening on May 19.  We also have loaded NEW tracks onto the Graduate Visualisations page on our website. See details below. Finally, remember to check out our Hoffman Top Tip for the month of May.

Take regular breaks this month and notice the difference in your va-va-voom!

With love from The Hoffman Team

Frederique Bicker
Psychologist Frederique Bicker has a practice in Amsterdam as well as a background of treating addiction at the Priory in London. Since doing the Hoffman Process herself in 2012, she's referred many people to the course. Here she explains why she believes treating stress holistically gets the best results.

'In 2007 I spent six months in India studying the philosophy of yoga and different meditation techniques. I was inspired by their approaches to healing. Learning how to relax is key to stress recovery and starts with a quiet mind. From this place, emotions will be soothed and the body calms down. Since then I've been integrating western psychology with Eastern wisdom, with great results.

Many people nowadays live and work under a lot of pressure, feeling that they need to meet high expectations, including achieving a successful career, financial stability, a loving relationship, healthy lifestyle, looking good, being a good parent, friend and lover etc. As a psychologist I see the results...'

Hoffman Monthly Top Tiptoptip

Lemur DancingCome on, let's twist again...
Use this month to explore dance and movement. There is no better way to release anxiety and tension than by putting on some music and letting it all out. Create a dance play list and either dance in the comfort of your own home, or get together with friends and try something new.

Check out 5 rhythms or Morning Gloryville and find somewhere to shake your bootie. It's fantastic to feel your body and spirit come alive with dance. Have a happy May of Movement everyone...

P.S. We're not going to sign off by saying 'May the Fourth be with you...'

Until Next Month...
