Hoffman Newsletter: June 2015
hoffman... When you're serious about change

Welcome!
Knights Chafing

Do you ever feel as though you're wearing a suit of armour that prevents you from showing your real self?

Many of us use defence mechanisms when we've been hurt, shamed or rejected. But the effort to keep those shields in place can be exhausting, sap our confidence, undermine our power and prevents us being genuine.

In this month's issue, business coach and author, Hilary Gallo shows you how to strengthen your core authentic self so that you can shine and achieve success in business as well as your personal life.

If you're just finding out about Hoffman, you can attend our Information Evening in London on Tuesday June 23. You could also book onto our Introduction Day on Saturday July 11.

Hoffman Process Graduates can also get tips on how to avoid burnout on
our Support Call on Tuesday June 16, or join the Hoffman Graduate only 5Rhythms evening on Monday June 29. Finally, remember to check out our Hoffman Top Tip for the month of June.

Time to find the chink in your armour and try something new!

With love from The Hoffman Team

Hilary Gallo
Hilary Gallo started his career as a lawyer and went on to carve a niche both as a negotiator of complex deals and as a leader in the IT and services industry. Going through the Hoffman Process in 2010 gave him insights which he took back to the workplace, as well as his own life, to great effect. Here he explains how he developed the idea of The Power of Soft - How to get what you need and still be nice, which is the title of his upcoming book...

'Armouring up - putting on a front to the world - is the easiest thing to do. It's behind everything, from the clothes we wear, to the image we feel we need to portray, to the person we feel we need to be. In extremes, the front is simply weaponry and the language follows the metaphor of war; attack and defence, positions and entrenchment. What's troubling is the deep irony in this; the more effort that we put into the front, the less we tend to put into the core that it's shielding ....'

Hoffman Monthly Top Tiptoptip

Lion and Cubs

On June 21 we celebrate Father's day in the UK. Use this month to think about the positive legacy of your Father.

Do you have any photographs of your father? See if you can find out a bit more about what his life was like as a child and later as an adult. What were his positive qualities? What were his priorities, his beliefs, his attitudes? What did he do for fun? See if you can get a deeper understanding of him.

Enjoy the positive qualities he gave you and find a way of showing your gratitude. You could take this opportunity to write a letter of appreciation to him and tell him you love him.

Until Next Month...
