"Your vision will become clear only when you can look into your own heart. Who looks outside, dreams; who looks inside, awakens." Carl Jung

Codependency is a collection of patterns which most of us develop in response to our childhood circumstances. Some continue to be useful as we move into adulthood but there may be areas in our personal or work life where our patterns in relationship or with authority, for example, limit our ability to realise our vision.

The Key to Freedom
A course like the Process enables us to see how and why our patterns started - which is the key to freedom. Once we've identified the source it's much easier to deal with current problems; to disentangle how much our reaction relates to what's happening now and how much is from a past event.

Codependence and Addiction
Author John Bradshaw calls codependence 'the mother of all addictions', since addictions are symptoms of co-dependency. Addictive behaviours are often a search for healing.

Codependency Questionnaire
Hoffman Graduate and Relationship Therapist Sabine Young's codependency questionnaire below can help you see if any of these traits are strong enough to limit your vision. If so, the Process or skilled therapy might be a great next step.

  • Do you avoid arguments with your partner by keeping quiet?
  • Do you feel uncomfortable talking to people in authority?
  • Do you have difficulty in asking for help?
  • Do you feel good when you solve others' problems?

  • Hoffman Graduate Eleanor Moran did the Process in 2003. This year she's achieved her dream of publishing her first novel, with a second in the pipeline.

Eleanor says: Having had years of dreary Freudian therapy I went on a much more experential journey which began with the Hoffman Process. The shift I experienced on the Process sent me into further self exploration - re-birthing, family constellations, flower essences - you name it I've done it! All of it made me realise that I needed to take control of my own destiny.

I'd always wanted to write, and I finally dared to jump in. The book's got a lot of me in it - the mixed blessing of hippie parents, the romantic travails - but I've gained perspective on all of those experiences, so it's ended up a comedy not a tragedy! Without Hoffman it might have been a misery memoir and God knows we don't need any more of those.

    Easter Process - April 10th-17th
The clocks go back in the UK at the end of this month bringing longer, lighter evenings; perfect for our Easter Process when we'll be back at beautiful Florence House in Sussex with its gorgeous gardens.

So if you're ready to take this once-in-a-lifetime journey call us at the Hoffman Office on 01903 88 99 90. All conversations are in the strictest confidence and we can help you decide if now is the right time for you.

One of the most important understandings of the Process is that we are never alone with our difficulties and they are never unique to us. Time and again people say that no one could possibly understand their problems; that everyone seems so 'sorted' compared to them; that if anyone knew the 'real them' they would never be accepted.

By the end of the Process, when we stand in our authentic self, we know that our common humanity unites us and we only need to reach out. This new slideshow on the Graduate website is a great reminder.

Would you like to find out more about the Process?

  • Refresh Your Vision - May 15th-17th at Florence House

If you'd like to get back in touch with your Process experience and apply some of the techniques to your current life, this is the weekend for you. Remember that you can do this weekend with other family members who have done the Process and it's also a great place to connect with other Graduates.

"The Q2 was a wonderful experience. I expected it to be just a revision exercise and a reconnection, but it took the whole process to a greater depth" Helen, Aberdeen

This call on Wednesday March 11th is led by Esme Page, one our most experienced UK Hoffman Teachers. It's ideal for those Hoffman Graduates who have finished their Post Process Support Groups and would like to connect back to the Process tools. We're also happy to have Graduates on the call who have been 'out of the loop' for a while and would like to refresh their perspective. In short - if you've done the Process, wherever you live - this one is for you! With a maximum of 12 per call please book early to ensure your place.

Help, why am I being like this?

  • Why am I still without a partner?
  • Why am I unhappy at work?
  • Why am I still putting on weight?
  • Why am I so reactive to my partner?
  • Why am I in debt?
  • When these kind of questions come up, our intellect often offers great reasons for why we're behaving or feeling the way we do. But the underlying patterns driving us are often older than our mental reasoning so they may not be in our intellectual awareness. This is where elevators come in; they're a great way to access your inner wisdom. Once you get confident at 'unlocking' your elevator scenes they become a fast way to get unstuck and gain perspective on a particularly charged situation. This call will help you get more experience and more confidence in interpreting elevators so you can get on and deal with the patterns themselves.
