 Dear Nikki,
Family Outing This month kicks off with National Family Week in the UK. It marks our biggest annual celebration of family life, aiming to highlight the importance of quality time together and promote the benefits of a healthy, active lifestyle.

We're doing our bit to help by offering a wonderful family-friendly summer party at Florence House in Sussex. It includes a chance to kick up your heels Zumba dancing, sumo wrestle or just wrestle with the barbeque -  you could even make it an outdoors adventure and spend the night under canvas. For quality adult time, deeper conversations can be had around the evening bonfire and moonlit strolls in the garden are a romantic option. Read more and book your tickets below.

Continuing the family theme, Hoffman Graduate and psychologist Oliver James has brought out a new book this month all about parenting, so we hope you enjoy working out your parenting styles, as well as listening to his thought-provoking  interviews on the links below.

There's a chance this month to participate in a Constellation workshop which allows you to trace and heal family patterns that are having a negative impact on your life, as well as a workshop to support anyone with bi-polar spectrum disorder and, if you're a Hoffman Graduate, you can join the June support call where Matthew is keen to help you introduce more fun into your life!

We're appreciating the relationship we have with our wider Hoffman family this month, as Hoffman Canada hosts  our International Conference in Toronto. There are Hoffman Institutes in 14 countries worldwide, so it's quite a jamboree!

Summer is when we often have more free time to consider the kind of life and relationships we've created and how we want to go forward in the future. If this could be the right time for you to do the Process, just call us on 01903 88  99 90 to talk it over.

Wishing you a fun-filled month

Dates for 2010 Processes and Information Evenings are on our calendar page.
How Not To F**k Them Up - Oliver James
Man Holding Child's Hand
Clinical psychologist and Hoffman Graduate, Oliver James has just brought out a new book in which he argues that it's not our children that must be trained...it's us. Meticulously researched, inspiring and yet provocative, he raises important questions about the way in which we bring up our children: Do we, as a society, provide enough support for parents? How has the role of the father changed in recent years? Can a working mum ever reconcile her career with her family life? Click on any of the book covers below to order.

Oliver categorises mothering styles into: organiser, hugger or flexi-mum. Read a recent Times interview with him to find out which type you are, as well as the statistically critical years for childcare and the healthiest solutions.

''The Hoffman Process is a remarkable shortcut to understanding what went wrong in your chlldhood as well as a highly imaginative way of cheering you up."  Oliver James

Summer Party July 31st - August 1st at Florence House
Lynn, Serena & Tim
Lynn, Serena Tim
Here's a big date for your diary - our summer parties are famously fun and there's a trio from our earlier May party who'd love to see you!

We'll be gathering from 3pm on Saturday July 31st in the beautiful and spacious grounds of Florence House, East Sussex for fun and frolics. Children (and adults!) can work off excess energy sumo wrestling or jumping for joy in the bouncy castle. There are Zumba dance opportunities if you'd like to learn a fun way to get your blood circulating to the beat. If that works up a thirst you can sip a chilled drink whilst watching the clouds go by in your favourite corner of the garden or chat with like-minded people round the barbeque. The evening brings opportunities for deepening conversations and renewing friendships around the bonfire whilst enjoying the live music.

Hoffman LogoWeb Bug from http://www.assoc-amazon.co.uk/e/ir?t=wwwhoffmanins-21&l=as2&o=2&a=0956427006
Families and children are welcome. We'll be winding up at midnight. You can camp in the grounds overnight for a small charge and breakfast is also available. There is limited overnight accommodation in Florence house which is booked on a first come, first served basis. Camper vans are an option and we've seen some seriously swish tents in past years that brought a whole new perspective to 'glamping'! Please contact Florence House directly to book camping or rooms on: 01323 873700 or email: info@florencehouse.co.uk

The barbeque and buffet is available including drinks from 6-7pm. Please book your tickets on the link below or call the office on: 01903 88 99 90.

Many of you tell us that Information Evenings are very helpful in deciding whether the Process is for you; yet there may not be one convenient to you. So we also offer monthly information phone-ins. These are really lively with callers' questions and interesting input from previous Process participants and Hoffman Teachers.

Call from wherever you are in the world and join International and UK Hoffman Director Serena Laurence from 7.30-8.30pm UTC/GMT for our June 15th Information phone-in. You can just listen or if you have a question, we'll be delighted to help.

    We'll cover topics such as:
    • How can you tell if the Process is right for you?
    • What changes can you expect following the course?
    • How do you continue the benefits of the Process once it's over?

Patterns, Play and Fun - Wednesday June 16th - 7.30-8.45pm
Do you find it easy to relax and be playful? This month's call is focused on how our patterns influence the quality of pleasure and play we experience. Whether you find it hard to be spontaneous or judge play to be 'silly' but secretly wish you could let yourself go and not worry about making a fool of yourself, this call should offer you some insights into your unique combination of patterns and how they affect you when it comes to having fun (or not!).

Led by Matthew Pruen, these calls are ideal when you finish your Post Process Support Groups and want to reconnect to the Process tools. We also welcome Hoffman Graduates who've been 'out of the loop' and want a fresh perspective. In short - if you've done the Process - wherever you live - this one's for you!

Graduates sharing at the May meeting
    London Support Group

'It's always rewarding to see how much light and joy is shared at the meetings and how willing everyone is to try new things. We make a point of having fun from time to time - we've even had special improvised comedy evenings! We also ensure there are nibbles and soft drinks before and, for those that want, pizza afterwards. If you're thinking of starting a group I'd suggest including fun, giving lots of chances for sharing - and not to be scared to experiment!'  Bruce Harris

To be kept informed of meetings please email diane-gallagher@ukgateway.net Bruce and Diane who organise the meetings are always delighted to see new faces.
