"You can only become truly accomplished at something you love. Don't make money your goal. Instead, pursue the things you love doing, and then do them so well that people can't take their eyes off you."
Maya Angelou

We're certainly living in what the Chinese call 'interesting times' at the moment. The economic climate is forcing many of us to reassess how we live and wonder how to keep our heads when all around appear to be losing theirs. It's also easy to forget that our grandparents lived through times of tremendous hardship, so working through family patterns is very helpful if we're to avoid a conditioned response. A recent mailing from Hoffman in America sums it up well.

Brain based research shows us that the emotional brain (the amygdala) always functions far faster than the thinking brain (neo-cortex). For example, when we perceive a potential threat, our negative emotional programming tends to further distort our perceptions of reality.

Many of us have parents or grandparents who were children during the Great Depression and the current economic uncertainties are triggering long buried parental patterns.

What commonly passes for "reality" begins with objective conditions and then mixes in with your beliefs, judgments, perceptions, needs and desires; i.e. your "patterns." But to see reality as it is, one needs to shift from viewing through the distorting lens of patterns and instead, see through the eyes of your Spiritual Self. By turning to your Spiritual Self you experience a more grounded observation of reality, and are moved into effective action.
Raz Ingrasci, C.E.O. Hoffman U.S.A.

Sarah Carron went on the Process last year to deal with her depression and found, of the many positive changes that followed, finding a way to connect with her spirituality was one of the most valuable. She says:

Your spiritual self. That's the voice inside you, your true essence, your gut feel or intuition, the part we so often force down or ignore because we feel we should do something else. To me, all that spirituality means is connecting into this inner voice and trying to be true to yourself. This spirituality is growing by the day.

Of the other effects of the Process she says: I know I'm creating positive things around me. I already get on far better with all members of my family; the kids are happy, loved and loving. My ex can only be described as a true friend. I have met a new partner and we are openly giving and receiving love which is wonderful.

If you'd like a chance hear more about the Hoffman Process and call in with questions then tune in to The Late Show on BBC Radio London this month.

Hoffman UK Director Tim Laurence is being interviewed on this news and current affairs programme as the special guest of Jumoke Fashola at 11 pm.

The Show starts on Monday 15th December at 10 pm and you need to call in at the start with your questions, if you'd like to be on air later.

Congratulations to Matthew Pruen, on his recent qualification as a Hoffman Teacher. Asked to comment on the training he said:
"For me, the training has been the most satisfying and challenging, thrilling and daunting training experience I've ever had. It has taken me to places I would never have dared go. None of it would have been possible without the generous support given by Esme and the rest of the teaching team. A particularly big thank you also goes to my beautiful wife Emma who has shared the journey every step of the way. It's been a beautifully balanced mixture of training and growth and I'm totally delighted at the prospect of my future working with the Institute."

We're sad to see Jeremy Kynaston, a hugely valued member of staff, leave our teaching team this month. Having done his own Process in Australia, Jeremy has taught widely for 9 years, in Australia, Ireland and the UK and once in Canada.

Asked about his time as a Hoffman Teacher, Jeremy said: "Teaching the Process has been an absolute privilege, witnessing so many individual journeys to inner peace, self love and self-empowerment. It has also been a pleasure working with other Hoffman teachers and particularly learning from Bob Hoffman during my training. My connections with the Process and Process Graduates will always be strong."

From all of us at Hoffman Jeremy, your wisdom, kindness and humour will be greatly missed.

You can still catch up with Jeremy at the Dublin Information evenings for the foreseeable future - remember there's one next Tuesday 9th December - and he'll also continue to be available for individual Post Process Coaching sessions. Password needed.
