When we're young, we often have grand ideas of what we want to be when we're 'grown up', but as we get older, it's easy to make excuses for why we should let our childhood dreams slip away.

In this month's newsletter, we celebrate some Hoffman Graduates who have made their dreams come true...
  • Jane Horrocks (pictured) lifts the roof and busts some moves at the Young Vic Theatre
  • Denise Quinlan 'comes out' as a creative
  • Hoffman events in Amsterdam
  • Mairin Colleary takes a road trip to Mongolia
  • Plus April's Top Tip
With love from the Hoffman Team.

She's found her voice: Jane Horrocks

Jane Horrocks, actress, comedienne and singer rocks it big at the Young Vic Theatre in London this month.

Jane credits the Hoffman Process with giving her the courage to achieve a lifelong ambition; "It's a year since doing the Hoffman Process and I finally feel I am able to spread my wings creatively."

If You Kiss Me, Kiss Me
is part gig, part dance piece. In it, Jane sings her own gritty and soulful versions of the new wave music she grew up with. You can watch a trailer for the show here and book tickets here
-  but hurry, because it finishes on April 16.

Jane can also be seen reprising her role as Bubble in Absolutely Fabulous: The Movie , out this summer.

Creative career moves

Denise in Downing StreetFor 23 years, Denise Quinlan's work included business development, marketing, sales and partnering roles for IT companies. Caught in a high-pressure corporate environment driven by quarterly targets, she began to question what it was all about.

Two years and one amazing road-trip later, her days couldn't be more different.

"In my 20s, I was the enthusiastic hard-worker, very willing to put in way-more-than-necessary hours. By my 30s, I didn't have the same energy to fling at it. With my Dad very ill, some of my original motivators fuelling the hamster-on-a-wheel lifestyle were no longer there. Then, to top it off, a long-term relationship came to an abrupt end..."

Hoffman Top Tip

Busy Honey Bee
Do you have a career or just a job?

Think about the situation you are in work-wise. How do you feel about your work and your role in it? Is it fulfilling your dreams and expectations? Or is it time to examine other possibilities that might be open to you in the future?

Close your eyes and listen for any messages you receive from your Intellect, Emotional self, Body and Spiritual Self. Ask these aspects to let you know if they feel nourished by what you do. You may find yourself faced with a Yes/No answer. 'Yes, I am happy to keep on with what I do now' or 'No, this is not where I want to be in X number of years'.

If the answer is 'Yes' be grateful. Re-commit to your work and appreciate those who have supported you in getting you where you are today.

If the answer is 'No', start considering what steps you will need to change direction. And consider what kind of support you will need to make these changes. Be sure to involve those who will be affected by your decisions and make plans together.

Until next month...
